Monthly Meeting: May 24th, 2012

Oxfam Action Corps Training
Just one week ago today, the 2012-2013 organizers for Chicago Oxfam Action Corps were finishing up their 4-day training in DC. While there, they had the opportunity to meet with Oxfam Action Corps organizers from cities all throughout the country. Training concluded with several lobby visits on capitol hill, in order to tell our Illinois representatives and senators about the importance of reforming food aid in the farm bill.

Wondering what you can do to become a part of Chicago Oxfam Action Corps this summer? During the monthly meeting this week, we'll be talking about some of the ways you can become involved with Chicago Oxfam Action Corps in the upcoming months, including volunteering at Chicago's farmer's markets (there is an opportunity this Saturday in Hyde Park!), concerts, and other events.  We'll also talk about Oxfam's current campaign, the GROW campaign

Currently, 1 in 7 people go to bed hungry.  But it's not because there isn't enough food in the world; it's because the food system is broken. Find out more information and how you can help at our next meeting!

We hope to see you there!

When: Thursday, May 24th, 2012
Where: Corner Bakery, Loop Chicago
56 W. Randolph
Chicago, IL 60601
Time: 6:00pm

Please email us at chicago.oxfamactioncorps@gmail.com if you have any questions or would like to hear more about what we have planned.
