From the blog of Greenheart International
"Its not everyday you that a cultural exchange organization decides to open a summer camp…but then again its not every day you encounter an organization like Greenheart!
Taking place in the summer of 2014, Camp Greenheart serves as the newest (and some will argue the most fun!) initiative of Greenheart International. While activities focused on culture, worldview, volunteerism and personal development will be the basis of the Camp Greenheart, there will certainly be no lack of traditional camp fun such as zip lining, campfires, swimming, and ropes course. To fund this camp we have entered a contest with KIND Snacks which will award $10,000 to the project with the most votes. With this money, Camp Greenheart will provide scholarships for children unable to afford camp, while also covering some operational and camp leader costs. Please support us in our mission to provide these children of Chicago with an eye-opening, enriching, and fun summer experience!"
Not only is Camp Greenheart a place for children to have fun and continue learning during their summer break, Camp Greenheart:
- Engages youth to explore their natural surroundings, to work creatively, collaboratively and independently
- Fosters a holistic sense of well-being for self,
others, and the world - Challenges campers through increased
responsibility, independence, and outdoor
activities - Is a celebration of youth and togetherness with
music and nature
